Visitor Management System for Manufacturing Sites
Manufacturing sites have visitor management needs that go far beyond a paper sign-in book. Contractors need inductions. Documents need verifying. Zones need controlling. And in an emergency, you need to account for every person on site within seconds — not minutes.
DigiGreet is built for complex sites. It handles visitor sign-in, contractor management, document storage, zone-based access and fire evacuation — all in one cloud-based system that works on any device.
Why manufacturing sites need more than a standard visitor system
A visitor to a manufacturing site is not the same as a visitor to an office. They may be entering hazardous areas, working with machinery, or bringing their own subcontractors onto your site. Your legal obligations are correspondingly greater.
| Challenge |
How DigiGreet solves it |
| Contractors arrive without completing inductions |
Induction must be completed digitally before sign-in is allowed |
| No proof that contractors read the H&S briefing |
Confirmation logged with timestamp — available instantly for any audit |
| RAMS and insurance documents stored in a filing cabinet |
Documents uploaded, reviewed and stored digitally — expiry alerts automatic |
| No control over which zones visitors can access |
Zone-based access configured per visitor or contractor type |
| Fire evacuation list based on paper sign-in — unreliable |
Live evacuation list on any smartphone — updated in real time |
| HSE or auditor asks for compliance records — scramble to find them |
Full audit trail for every visitor and contractor — exportable in seconds |
Contractor management — built for industrial sites
Contractors are the biggest visitor management challenge on manufacturing sites. DigiGreet handles the full contractor lifecycle:
Before they arrive
- Contractors pre-register online and upload required documents — RAMS, insurance certificates, CSCS cards, permits to work
- Your team reviews and approves documents before the contractor is permitted on site
- Expiry dates are tracked automatically — you receive alerts when documents need renewing
When they arrive
- Contractors sign in on a tablet or via QR code and complete the digital induction
- The system confirms their documents are valid before allowing sign-in
- Their badge shows their name, zone permissions and contractor type — visible to all site staff
- The relevant site manager is notified automatically
While they're on site
- A live list shows every contractor currently on site, when they arrived and which zones they can access
- Zone restrictions prevent contractors from entering areas not relevant to their work
- Integration with Paxton Net2 means zone access is enforced automatically through door control
Document Management — the most advanced feature for manufacturers
DigiGreet's Advanced Contractor Document Management module is designed specifically for organisations that manage large numbers of contractors with complex compliance requirements. It is particularly valuable in manufacturing, construction, pharmaceuticals and logistics.
- Store and manage all contractor documents in one secure, searchable system
- Set required document types per contractor category — different requirements for electrical contractors, cleaning contractors and delivery drivers
- Automatic expiry tracking with email alerts to your team and the contractor
- Permit to work management — issue, track and close permits digitally
- Instant audit-ready reports — produce a complete compliance record for any contractor in seconds
This module has very few direct competitors in the UK market. If your site currently manages contractor documents in spreadsheets, email folders or physical files, DigiGreet's Document Management replaces all of it.
Fire evacuation on large and multi-zone sites
Manufacturing sites often have multiple entrances, large footprints and high visitor and contractor volumes. DigiGreet's evacuation system is built for this:
- Live on-site list updated in real time — includes visitors, contractors and staff
- Multiple wardens can work through the roll call simultaneously from their own devices
- Zone-specific lists — know exactly which contractors were in which area at the time of the alarm
- Automatic evacuation report generated after each drill — stored for HSE audit purposes
- Works on any smartphone or tablet — no dedicated hardware required
Compliance and audit trail
Manufacturing sites are subject to regular audits — from the HSE, from ISO certification bodies, from clients and from insurers. DigiGreet gives you a complete, time-stamped record of every person who has been on your site:
- Who signed in, when, and who they came to see
- Which induction they completed and when they confirmed it
- Which documents were valid at the time of their visit
- Which zones they accessed and for how long
- When they signed out
All records are exportable in seconds. If an HSE inspector arrives on site, you can produce a complete compliance report for any contractor or visitor immediately.
Paxton Net2 integration — enforce inductions through door control
If your site runs Paxton Net2 access control, DigiGreet integrates directly. A contractor's Paxton fob is only activated once they have completed the required induction and had their documents verified. This means contractors physically cannot access restricted areas until they are compliant — no relying on staff to enforce it manually.

GDPR compliant — all data stored in the UK
All visitor and contractor data collected by DigiGreet is stored on UK-based servers. Retention periods are applied automatically, privacy notices are shown at sign-in, and you can respond to subject access requests in seconds. This is particularly important for manufacturing sites that collect sensitive contractor data including insurance details, qualifications and health declarations.
Works across multiple sites
DigiGreet supports multi-site deployments with a central dashboard. Each site has its own sign-in configuration, but administrators can view and report across all locations from one place. Ideal for manufacturing groups with multiple plants or warehouses.
Simple pricing — no per-user charges
DigiGreet is available on Lite, Pro and Enterprise plans, with the Advanced Contractor Document Management module available as an add-on. There are no limits on the number of visitors or contractors, and no surprise charges. All plans include free UK-based setup support.

Frequently asked questions
Can contractors be prevented from signing in if their documents have expired?
Yes. DigiGreet can be configured to block sign-in if a contractor's required documents have expired or have not yet been approved. This removes the need for staff to manually check compliance at reception.
Does it work with Paxton Net2?
Yes. DigiGreet has one of the best Paxton Net2 integrations available in the UK. Contractor induction completion can trigger Paxton door access automatically — so compliant contractors can enter, and non-compliant contractors cannot.
Can different contractor types have different induction requirements?
Yes. DigiGreet allows you to configure different sign-in flows for different visitor and contractor types. Electrical contractors can have different induction requirements to cleaning contractors, for example.
How long does setup take?
Most manufacturing sites are fully set up within one to two working days. Our UK-based team provides free setup support and can configure the system to match your specific site requirements.
Is DigiGreet suitable for food manufacturing sites?
Yes. DigiGreet is used by food manufacturers to enforce hygiene inductions, allergen awareness confirmations and zone restrictions. The system generates audit-ready compliance records for BRC, SALSA and other food safety standards.
